Just saying:
Downtown has a new, upscaley (think portabellos and roma tomatoes as toppings) Papa John's Pizza that's open until 1 a.m. by Olive and Tucker. Bad for Vito's, but honestly, I'd rather have Papa John's than Maurizio's at 11 or 12. And hey, how many national chains have shown their interest in marketing towards Washington Avenue, et al. yet?

Sen Thai has the best, most flavorful tom kha soup around.

I never knew this, but according to St. Louis on the Air on NPR, the famous "Dewey defeats Truman" photo of Harry S. Truman was taken in St. Louis.

No idea where they would've taken this one, though.

Small part-needing circuit-benders and people in need of cheap S-Video/component video/HDMI cables: the Olive Blvd. Radio Shack in U. City is closing within the week and selling what's left there for super-super cheap.

Apple II owners: Software to Go in Clayton (moving soon, selling off a lot of stock for sale) has a four-player party game with your name on it, as well as all kinds of obsolete PC software.

And now, a message from a special guest.

Hey, yawl. I'm Paula Deen, and I thought I oughta take a break from cooking scrumptious southern cuisine and dallying about with my silent sea captain husband to tell you a little something about local dining in St. Louis. Have you ever been to 10th Street Italian? It's delicious, and wonderfully light on the wallet. Surely one of the best deals in great Italian food in town this side of Mangia Italiano.

Bye, yawl.
