Because I missed it, all right?
Bento box album covers
For anyone who was ever curious what Nine Inch Nails' "The Downward Spiral" album cover would look like if composed entirely of egg, it's Obati's Jacket Lunch Box, taking well-known album covers and recreating them in bento box form with rice, nori, and vegetables.
Amazing blog. It's DJ Grocery from The Science live hip-hop spin at Blueberry Hill from a few years back, broadcasted live on KDHX every Friday night (may it rest in peace). Grocery and the other posters make and eat bizarre stuff like deep-fried pancakes, beaver, bacon-flavored vodka, and a homemade Luther burger (for the uninitiated, think the soul food restaurant episode of The Boondocks, or the Gateway Grizzlies' Krispy Kreme burger).
The site also introduced me to the deeply satisfying Mammer Jammer, a Philly cheesesteak with hot, chili-flavored sauce on top, served by a take-out place of the same name. It's on Natural Bridge a while east of Goody Goody Diner, and open until 2 a.m. on weekends. See that, Goody Goody? They close at 2 a.m. Not p.m.
