#1 for Sammy Hagar: was there any doubt?
Google Trends is neat.

Ethiopian food
De Palm Tree isn't hosting their Ethiopian Sundays anymore. On the bright side, another Ethiopian restaurant (read: not Red Sea) is supposed to be opening in the Loop at some point.

Insomnia is for everyone
Confirm/deny: USA Network's four-hour Night Flight block of late night programming during the eighties sounds like the greatest thing ever.

I'll have an order of the ham and cheese kreplach
Apparently, the India Rasoi in the Central West End once offered veal Vindaloo. So, so, so wrong.

Casa Lupita is gone
So if I've ever raved about Casa Lupita, or said that its potato enchiladas were even better than those at Arcelia's, or that it was really cheap, or that I planned to go back, or that I really wanted to try its huevos rancheros, all of that is just going to have to occur at Taqueria el Bronco, or El Rio Grande, or Gardunos or somewhere. ¡Felicidades!

Most promising new artist: Harvey Danger
I've written before that apparently, ThinkPad laptops, such as the one I'm using now, are vaguely modeled after the Japanese bento box. Don't believe me? Well, as it turns out, sushi ThinkPads can most definitely be part of a bento box.

Bookstore.
I just came across this amazing used bookstore on Manchester, the Book House. There are so many books that I still need to get around to reading, and I'm thinking this place is going to help out with that. Nearly every shelf I saw had 3+ books that I've been wanting to read, and for cheap. I wound up getting copies of Dubliners and Don Quixote. What with Patten Books just east down the street (not to mention Carl's), any and all bibliophile readers best give the neighborhood a visit.

Nada +
Go see this movie immediately.

I loved it, it felt sort of like new wave cinema (down to Carla looking like whatserface from Breathless), except with the last few decades' swing towards technical trickery. All of the people that voted this down to a five are idiots (reminds me of Blueberry Hill on Sauce - geez, people). And what's more, it's friggin' hilarious! If it's true that the director used to work on kids' TV, well then damn, sign me up for Cuban Sesame Street.

Hoo boy.
Last time I saw it? One lane open downtown on 40. Also, just curious - what is it about Union Station that impels county high schoolers to go there before prom?

How is it that
"Big Momma's House 2" turned into:

"This Grandma is a Menace 2"?
